The Porch Roof Classic

Back in 1970, after 14-year-old Joey Tosh survives a bullying incident on the last day of junior high, he vows to get even over the summer. But Danny Blight is a formidable, anti-semitic foe from the privileged side of Marsh Meadow, and Joey lacks the guts to take him on. With the inspiration of Helen Fishblatt, a fearless, bohemian older girl he meets at overnight camp-and with the support of his friends-Joey builds enough confidence to challenge Danny and his loathsome pals to an epic, no-holds-barred Wiffle ball game (the "Porch Roof Classic") to settle Marsh Meadow scores once and for all.
